Mac Makeup Black Style Collection

Mac Makeup has a new fall collection called Black Style which is perfect for a polished goth or vampy look.

Last week I put myself in the hands of a Mac makeup stylist and asked her to show me some looks from the fall line. After about forty five minutes of playtime I came away with Cinderfella eye shadow, the Greasepaint stick, and Penultimate eye liner liquid pen for my eyes and a bottle of Nocturnelle black nail polish.

The only product that underwhelmed me was the Eye Kohl eyeliner in Smolder. It was too creasy. But the greasepaint stick doubles as a liner or eye shadow base so it’s a more versatile buy anyway.

If you have a Mac store near you, I recommend you go in and ask them to show you some looks. I learned how to do a smoldering smoky eye darker than I’ve ever gone before and a modern cat eye. And guys don’t be shy, these looks are pretty androgynous and there are girls (like myself) who appreciate men with the confidence to rock some makeup.

Chain Gang Group Costume

Chain gangs, popular at the beginning of the twentieth century, were made up of groups of convicts doing forced labor while chained together to prevent their escape. Hard labor was part of their punishment, a way for them to repay society and possibly a method of deterrent.

Free Halloween Fonts

A good font can completely set the tone of a project. I’m a compulsive font-downloader. I’ve picked out a tiny sample of fonts that are available to download for free around the internet. These are perfect for Halloween greeting cards, party invites, place-cards or ransom notes.

To download these fonts either click on the alphabet or do a browser search for them by name. They should all be available for both Macs and PCs. For similar fonts try searches with phrases like “Free Halloween fonts” or “Free Horror fonts.”
