Blood Of The Vine building with Bloody Tasting Room is my favorite new building this year. If I get a building this year it will probably be this one. I have the Witches Brew House. My town’s monsters are going to be awfully inebriated. It’s available at Michaels Craft stores or from the American Sale website ($39.99). Unfortunately it’s not animated and it doesn’t come with real wine.
Gimme my Spooky Town!
What can I say? I’ve admitted in multiple posts in the past that I have a problem. That’s supposed to be the first step to recovery, right? So why do I still lose my mind over this miniature Halloween village collection every damn year?
True, when the plot from Honey I Shrunk the Kids becomes real and somebody makes me tiny with a shrink ray I fully intend to live in Spooky Town. So it only makes sense that I build my town up to have everything I need for that eventuality.
This isn’t my favorite batch of new releases, but there are some great pieces.
I’m a little short on funds at the moment. So I’ve only bought a few small pieces on sale at Michaels that I couldn’t live without (shut up). Maybe Santa Jack Skellington will help out. Here’s what I grabbed:
Wine Barrels that go with the Vampire winery building and have angry drunk black cats sitting on them.
Haunted Fountain filled with bloooood, bloooood, blooooood. So awesome! American Sale has this one for $9.99
I don’t know where this Warlock’s Workshop piece is going to go. But it has a bunch of skulls so I needed it.
This Spooky Iron Gate with Fence is a MUST for a Spooky Town cemetery. I may even go back and get another one of these because fences are pretty useful to have. American Sale has this for $9.99.
And here are some of the other new Lemax Spooky Town buildings for 2013:
Last House on the Left has ghosts that spin around in the window and fly around the building. This is my other favorite building this year. The soundtrack is pretty great with thunder claps and screaming. It’s available from American Sale for $64.99
The Haunted Clock Tower. I like this one, but I don’t love it. The soundtrack isn’t the best. It’s available at Michaels or on American Sale ($59.99)
Crowley Hall has some great lighting effects and a seance going on inside. It’s available on American Sale and E Hobby Tools for $59.99.
This probably goes with the carnival line of Spooky Town. I don’t care for the carnival stuff. I do like skulls and skeletons though. Skull River is available from E Hobby Tools and American Sale for $79.99.
It’s not my style, but I appreciate the nod this Ghost Containment Building makes to Ghostbusters. You can get this building on American Sale or E Hobby Tools for $69.99
Creepy’s Bed and Breakfast building looks kind of cool, but it has an incredibly annoying soundtrack. I do not enjoy.
The best sources I’ve found for Lemax Spooky Town are Michael’s stores (you can’t order from their website — you can’t even see everything they’re carrying in stores on the website which is annoying. They should do something about that.), eHobby Tools and American Sale. eHobby Tools is sold out of several of the big buildings, but they have videos on their site so you can actually check out the effects and sounds. You can also try Ebay.
When my village is in better shape I will definitely do a feature post on it’s amazing-ness.
What do you think of my addiction? Should I join a twelve step program or am I a hopeless case?
