True Blood Season 3 Episode 5

This was my favorite episode of the season yet.  The Vampire King’s house has become a center for most of the action.  Franklin brought his kidnap victim Tara there and we discover that he plans to turn her soon.  Eric arrives looking for some way to save Pam.  And Bill is still wrestling with what to do to keep Sookie safe, especially when he realizes she’s close by.

Back in Bon Temps Jason is distracted from his pursuit of police work by a major crush on a new character named Crystal.  Lafayette is propositioned by the gorgeous nurse from his mother’s hospital.  And Sam tries to keep his father from beating up his brother.

The humor in this episode rocked my world. I’m officially in love with Franklin.  He is bat-shit crazy and dysfunctional and his relationship with Tara is endlessly entertaining.  When he forced Tara to watch him speed-text I was almost on the floor.  I love that he thinks she’s his soul mate because she’s so messed up that they could be twins.  The hints sprinkled through the episode that he’s held other women captive and then killed them when they try to leave him was not even a little surprising and didn’t change my feelings for him at all.  I honestly didn’t think there was room in my heart to love another vampire, but Franklin’s intensity won me over body and soul.

As always this episode raised lots of questions.  Jason is probably in some trouble with Crystal.  What is Crystal?  Is she some kind of wood sprite?  But more maddeningly, WHAT IS SOOKIE?  What is she doing that makes that blue force field come out of her hands?  And when will we find out?

Every time she appears on screen I’m itching for Lorena’s demise.  Pam didn’t make an appearance this episode, but in the back of my mind I was worried about her.  The magistrate is in for a world of hurt if he harms one hair on her sexy head.

I love this show!
